Diego Segura Biography

The short Diego Segura biography reads: author, serial entrepreneur and lifelong learner. That is the order these days, although it happened the other way round.

Diego Segura is an industrial engineer who has spent his career working out how systems fail and how to fix them. He holds an MBA and a master's in Digital Technology from Boston University, and has worked with Stanford, Harvard, MIT and Boston University.

His first book, Everything in Excess Is Good, became an international bestseller. Since then, however, he has written You Are Not a Failure and the I Want to Start a Business series, one book for every reason people give for not starting. More than a million people in over ninety countries have read them, in up to nineteen languages.

He writes by reading everything published on a subject, and then he reports what it actually says, because the parts nobody wants to hear are usually the useful ones.

The Diego Segura biography also has a life outside books, so here are his passions and favourites.

Abstract art

I try to visit a museum every Sunday. Abstract art is my favourite, which is also why this site is an homage to Mondrian.

Travel

More than 35 countries so far, because I am always looking for a different way to see the same life.

Reading

Psychology, technology, marketing, astrophysics and the brain, but also a deep weakness for quantum physics and quantum computing.

Meditation

Two hours a day, since that is where the clarity comes from.

Walking

Between 10,000 and 30,000 steps a day, so most of my ideas arrive on foot.

Watches

Watches are also the passion that led me to start Relojes Guadalajara, a watch-trading community.

Music

I love dancing at parties, but alone I listen to music without lyrics: classical, electronic, deep house.

Skydiving

The video at the top of the home page is me, falling over the Palm in Dubai.
